Role Description

The Full Stack Engineer is a remote full-time role responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable end-to-end web applications. NestJS is a core priority for this role: you will build and own secure back-end services and RESTful APIs with NestJS as the primary framework, alongside modern front-end interfaces, database integration, and responsive, accessible, high-performance user experiences.

The engineer will work closely with product managers, UI/UX designers, QA engineers, and a mobile application developer to deliver seamless integrations between web and mobile platforms. Responsibilities also include troubleshooting issues, optimizing existing applications, participating in code reviews, writing technical documentation, and following industry best practices for security, testing, deployment, and software architecture.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess:

• 5+ years of professional full-stack software development experience, with demonstrable work such as production apps, open-source contributions, or a strong portfolio.
• Strong proficiency with NestJS for back-end development and RESTful API design; NestJS experience is a primary requirement for this role.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Professional experience with React.js and Next.js for modern front-end development.
• Solid understanding of HTML5, CSS3, responsive design, and modern UI development practices.
• Experience designing, developing, and integrating RESTful APIs with web and mobile applications.
• Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or Redis.
• Experience using Git for version control and familiarity with code review workflows.
• Experience with testing frameworks and modern CI/CD practices.
• Experience deploying and managing applications on cloud platforms such as AWS and DigitalOcean.
• Experience with system management, including load balancers, downtime management, Docker, and proxies.
• Understanding of application security, authentication, authorization, and performance optimization.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with a mobile application developer to ensure consistent API integration, feature delivery, and overall product quality.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently in a remote environment and meet deadlines.
• Willingness to complete a short technical assessment as part of the hiring process.
• Experience working in Agile or Scrum teams is an advantage.
• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience, is preferred.

Compensation

₦400,000+ / month

Compensation may be increased for candidates who demonstrate exceptional skills, relevant experience, and a strong track record of delivering production-grade software.
