Mobile Developer (Contract)

We are an early-stage startup seeking a hands-on Mobile Developer to build our React Native app from MVP to launch. You'll work directly with the founder and design partners to ship a polished, reliable mobile experience.

What You'll Do

• Build and ship core React Native features from MVP through launch
• Collaborate with design to implement clean, responsive UI and animations
• Integrate APIs, manage app state, and ensure reliable data flow
• Implement performance optimizations, offline behavior, and crash-free releases
• Write maintainable code, tests where appropriate, and contribute to a scalable architecture
• Communicate progress, risks, and technical decisions clearly to stakeholders

Required Experience

• 5+ years of React Native experience delivering production mobile apps
• Strong mobile fundamentals: performance, navigation, state management, and offline support
• Experience integrating REST/GraphQL APIs and third-party SDKs
• Proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript and modern React patterns
• Comfort working in fast-paced, early-stage environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Kotlin and Swyft for native integrations
• Familiarity with CI/CD for mobile (Fastlane, GitHub Actions)
• Experience building apps used in emerging markets
• Strong grasp of mobile UX and accessibility best practices
